A very English dream

I woke up very early and started watching Queen Elizabeth's procession from Buckingham to Windsor. It was powerful in the amount of military participants, the ceremony, the uniforms, but what really caught my eye was the variety of elaborate HATS! Feathers, bear fur, Scottish regiments and shimmering gold. The Yeomen Warders.

"Is it too frivolous to speak of the importance of how everything will look as the world watches the British pomp, ceremony, and religious ritual of Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral? Surely not. The Queen had overseen every detail of it herself, in a continuously reviewed plan codenamed Operation London Bridge, since at least the 1960s. Everyone who will be nervously getting dressed to play their solemn role tomorrow—be it the divisions of the Household Guard, Navy and Royal Air Force, Lord High Chamberlains, the Yeoman of the Guard, or the Archbishop of Canterbury and his clergy—will be feeling the personal weight of responsibility to go out looking impeccable"

Then I went back to sleep for awhile and dreamed I was at the funeral and Prince (King) Charles and I went into this elaborate room with tartan rugs, red walls, big ornate chairs to have our portraits made. And the photographer was Mark Hamill? I remember thinking "is that Mark Hamill?" And about then Pixie barked at me to be fed and I was pulled away from my very English fantasy.
