Illustration Friday challenge is Song. I think birds have the sweetest songs. I resurrected this little bird from many moons ago created in Adobe Illustrator and changed his bird feathers. Click to see large Flickr version.
Also including this collage I have done in a "Bird" series of greeting cards that are being printed. Originally created for my friend Ruth as a thank you card for her.

What a talented artist you are! So intricate and beautiful!
I love them both, but the second is absolutely lyrical!
i agree. birds makes the sweetest sounds. i like both your illustration-the first one is simple but i can almost hear the singing. on the second one the flowers added some warmth in whatever your illustration is trying to convey.
Really nice work. The second is my favorite though...its pefectly lovely.

Kim - these are both really beautiful! The top one looks very magical with the dark background, but the bottom one is extraordinarily stunning! It certainly will make a gorgeous card:>
thank you thank you! I am watching the little birds right now singing in the backyard before I am off to work. Of course, they are more spectacular in person!
I like these both equally well (had to weigh in on the votes going here) and for different reasons. the bottom one is definitely looser, more spontaneous and lovely, and I'd love to get some of your cards when you have them printed. Hope you announce it here on your blog when they are done. The top illustration is so much like YOU. I love the simple song, the dark background, the shape of the bird. It's exactly you. both are beautiful!
I love the delicate patterning on the wings.
Each peice has an entirely different, but equally joyous feel to it. LOvely artwork, I love the pink flower bonnet you have on your blackbird.
Truly lovely.
I like the hat on songbird #2's head. Very cute
ohhh! These birds are soooo beautiful. So delightful and charming!! I love them both!!
Both are just beautiful - you have the nicest light touch with your work - never heavy handed or overworked. Really nice stuff!
