Spent all afternoon making a lemon birthday cake from scratch with the girls. We made buttercream frosting and Mason and Noah decorated it all by themselves. There is quite a mess, but they learn a lot and had a blast. Noah was brave enough to work the stand electic mixer, learn how to lock it down and turn it on. But going to the store for the ingredients is always an expensive adventure. I came home lots more than was on my list. Anyway, it was a good day and now I deserve a glass of wine while Mason takes a hot bath and Noah eats an ice cream sandwich.
