That Drawers Me!

Something spectacular made from old drawers! From schubLaden via Design*Sponge. I want, need, desire one of these creations!

How to clean up old, musty drawers.

Bloesom finds some very nice drawers, seen below.

Tejo Remy's drawer pile (below) and make use of them via Place To Keep Things.

Part of a remarkable exhibit at the Louisiana State Museum in Baton Rouge, “Floodwall” features 610 dresser drawers collected from the flood debris all over New Orleans.

Now aren't you sorry you gave away that old chest of drawers? I am!

Creative ideas like these make me remember my Grampa, who was, I think, the original recycler. I have two of his dressers made from scrap wood left from full sized airplane patterns/proto-types, and tow of his "famous" bowling pin lamps- which are as precious to me as anything I own. To have an hour inside the minds of these kinds of artists! Wow. Fun.

Oh I forgot to tell you...heehee, those scrap wood dressers are painted beautifully with battle ship grey Marine Spar Varnish, also left over from actual battle ships. (can you tell he worked as a pattern maker for the U.S. Armory?)
