Lost. This might be a stretch, but this is what I thought when I saw the prompt LOST. Life has gone by so quickly in last 15 years, I feel like I lost some years in there somewhere. When I think of myself, I think of myself as 35 not 50 closing in on me. Illustration Friday, illustration by Kim Carney. Time lost because I am having so much fun! so busy! All the above.

Oh that is a great illustration and idea!!! I totally know what you mean about time.. I'm glad you're having fun and being busy and getting lost in that. I worry on the days when I "web-surf" and afterwards worry, "what did i just do!? I lost 3 hours of my day doing NOTHING!--- when I had so many other important things to do".
Nice work!
Cute illustration -
I know exactly how you feel! 50 is looming large (in 4 years) but I only feel about 35 in my head- and young people don't "get it". Oh well, they'll be there someday too :o)
Please don't mention birthdays - mine is too close! I guess we all feel the same. I still remember how long days felt as a child even though a long time ago now. It's my kids that remind me of how fast time flies and one isn't a kid any more! It's a lovely illustration, I like the pushing away and spiralling years - although spiralling downwards :)
I like the idea behind this, and it looks good.

Great concept and i like your shadows.
This is a really great looking illustration! I like your take on the theme. (and I can certainly relate) I like your color choices especially, and the defiant pushing and circling numbers are wonderful! Nicely done!
Great theme. I remember hearing listening to a Bob Segar song that had the line "sweet 16 is turing 31, you get to feeling weary when the work day is done"....I was about 14 the first time I heard that and just couldn't relate--as a 40 something now, the line seems prophetic to say the least.
Nice job capturing the concept.
Tell me about it!!!! I love the way you illustrated this...it does feel like the years have just swirled around like tornadoes and taken us along for the ride!
Great illustration, and cool concept.
It doesn;t matter what physical age you are, or how young you feel, the only thing in life that matters is that you are living it to the max and are happy doing it, right?!!
Wow! This is really interesting idea. I like it a lot-those numbers seem to keep coming faster and faster don't they.
Such a cool take on the topic. Great image!
hear, hear! And I'm having trouble remembering just how old I am exactly! I guess that says something, such as I must not be thinking about it too much. I'm sure as the big "Five-O" approaches, I'll pay more attention.
Also, thanks for the info in your previous posts, the ones from your conference. Much appreciate the illustrator links! And I love y'alls bedroom! It looks so cozy.
Now back to my headcold...ugh...
Nice concept and great job !
I love the idea behind this! The illustration is wonderfully done too.
Thank you EVERYONE. I am comforted to know I am not the only one in the time warp! And that someone can relate! Thank you, thank you. Yes, and I do think about those precious lost hours I spend on the internet. I do work with many young people that don't get where my head is, but they will. Sooner than they think if the years keep spinning as fast as they have been. Cheers!
Excellent idea, awesome illo!
It's OK, but too number orientated. Try for something a little softer next time.
I take it back. Go for the number thing. It's fab! I look forward to 51!
and 52
Wow. Seems but a mere moment ago I was lazing on your sofa in Texas talking excitedly about all the movies I would show you when "we" get a VCR, as you prepared a gorgeous midnight supper of steak and salad. Last Saturday I turned 40. 40 is the new 20. Still cute!
wonderful Kim! love everything about this, like the little indentations where the hands push away the letters, nice extra touch!
