Rainy winter days are made for old movies (and my referral to old movies means 1940 and BEFORE). Mom and I came across the “weepie” "Now, Voyager" (1942) with Bette Davis and Paul Henreid the other rainy, winter afternoon. We watched and wept. The last and best line “Oh, Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars”. Okay, get out the tissue, I think I am going to cry (again). There is also Bette Davis' "Dark Victory" (1939), sniffle, sniffle. More great moments from other movies here. A list of the 300 greatest movies.
Another ‘must see’ "The Women" (1939) with Norma Shearer, Rosalind Russell and Joan Crawford. “The idea of not having any men in the movie but having women talk about them nonstop." Jungle Red nail polish. The fashions (and fashion show) are fabulous.
