That is fantastic. Even more so because you tell her beauty starts inside.

I love this! Your mom looks like a million bucks. For what, $7.75? Amazing for sure.

I should take pictures of my mom's outfits for posterity; she's really out there sometimes.

Sometimes when she walks upstairs in the morning, she will say, I am clothed for $4.00 or $??? or whatever. She normally goes to the Senior Citizens here in Edmonds. And she goes to any thrift store that is having "a sale". I laugh at that, because, really aren't they always having a sale. She also gets her Senior Citizen discount, the only aspect of being a "senior" she likes. She has always been able to find the great find at any store. I don't know how she does it. But then there is also the gift she has of just dressing in style. She has always been like that, I did not inherit that gene. The big problem with all of this bargain shopping is she is totally out of the loop when it comes to 'real' prices and freaks out when we go to Macy's or Nordstroms. And I have to remind her, this is not a thrift store, these are 2005 prices right here. :)

You--MISSY--are being busted by the blog police. That's right. I was fact-finding your posts, and I have to correct you--you most certainly DID get the fashion gene. Once when we were neighbors, circa 1988, you came home from shopping with some gorgeous man-style trousers that you looked like a million bucks in. You smoked those long brown cigarettes and I thought "what a hot, stylish woman! I wanna be just like her!" You are such a smart dresser and that haberdashery thing was tailor-made for women like you and Emma Thompson. In fact, Emma Thompson reminds me so much of you because she is so smart, handsome, has your sky-blue eyes and has amazing hands that remind me so of yours - the hands of a soulful, working artist - hands that have wrought much beauty from oils to soil and everything in between!
