Holding time in your hand

I don't know about you, but I have an enormous collection of coins from all over the world. Mom always kept coins from her travels. David collected coins, mainly US currency. Lots of paper currency from everywhere, Malta, Tripoli, Brazil ... it's funny because lots of them are now collectibles I guess since the EU made individuals currency absolete. Occassionally, we dig them out and go through one by one. I always imagine how many people had handled THAT coin ... where all over the world it had gone! And when I think about coins from B.C., it gets my excitement flowing. There are so many sites selling these collectibles, it is fun to go have a peak.

Byzantine Gold Solidus Heraclius and Son (610-641 AD)

GREEK ATHENS, GREECE ca 440-404 BC
Parthian Empire AR Drachm Mithradates II (121-91 BC)
Mongolian Golden Horde c. 1242 - 1500
Greek Coin | Zeus Design, 150 - 65 BC
$12,500.00, Germany Silver Taler, Saxony, DAV-9709. Very Rare. A masterpiece of artistic design. Truly extraordinary.
Stater of Panticapaeum from 340 - 325 BC. There's so much life in this image, it's hard to believe it's 2,000 years old. Sold for $6 million in May 2023. More expensive ancient coins.
