Hey, Grandma ....

Hey, Grandma? -- a 20-something ask why you are taking up valuable space in a classroom? via Ronni When Elders Return to College ... fascinating that the young believe brains quit functioning around 49 ;) I can't wait until they are 50.

Hey 20-something - who do you think has been paying for those colleges and schools all these years. At age 80 I am still working and paying social security - we're trying to keep things going for you. The Golden Years just don't "Happen". You need to keep moving and learning.

Interesting. I went to the links and read ALL of Ann's enlightening posts. She is somewhat disgruntled (and pious, condescending, sweepingly bias and prejudiced, and a tad silly) in all of them.

There is, however, a cure...maturity.

I feel sad that she has been given a soapbox and that her voice is being used as an icon or example for views her age group.

I know many young women and men who would never be so immature and make such broad blanket statements. These are the same young men and women who feel they have so much to learn and not enough time to do it in. They value wisdom and encourage all to continue to learn and excel.

Wow. Just wow.
