Keeping sane during insanity

The only thing that keeps my brain from exploding are these shows, Jimmy Kimmel, Steven Colbert and Rachel. In case you don't record or stay of late for these comedy snippets of sanity, I am going to share.

I can watch these over and over and still laugh as hard as I did the first time I watched it.

An interview here: "The golden thread I always hold onto to guide me into and out of the work is the human experience. Without dictating a specific meaning I want people to recognise themselves and planet Earth in the work. I borrow from micro and macro systems and structures and bend things into my own vocabulary. I think of paintings as songs or poems: they are to be played; I want you to enjoy dancing around them with your eyes and your brain. There is a deliberate sense of chaos, which aims to mimic the kind of chaos you experience when walking down a street or through a forest, or having a conversation at a party, or the layers of thoughts that stack up in your own mind. All of my paintings are a failed attempt to organise this energy and fix things in place. I am rarely still and the world around me is moving at a fast pace, [and] this fuels my work, both aesthetically and conceptually. I think in layers rather than a finished picture. If you want a picture of something, just take a photo; a painting, and in particular a collage, can do things a photograph cannot."

Adam Collier Noel

Adam Collier Noel’s paper-based collage work combines both technological and traditional process. He layers found images with blueprints, letters, receipts and book pages as a way of reflecting the importance of paper as a transcript of human history. He has also begun to experiment with abstraction, exploring color theory but maintaining the grid-like composition that is found throughout his work. His Instagram.

I have two Aquarians in the house (Bri and David) and nothing makes me so frustrated than to have someone come behind me and rearrange the dishwasher.

Jeff Weir Oil Works

Jeff Weir is a local artist in Coeur d'Alene, ID focused primarily on paintings of North Idaho wildlife and figures. Working with oil on canvas he brings life and feeling to ideas and imagination of days gone by. 

I would really love to own a piece of his art. I can not find out how much one painting goes for to see if there is even hope of that wish coming true. I finally found one piece with a price attached, $3,600-$5,500, so maybe I will just have to dream about that.
