Okay, I am not a fan of Iran but I completely disagree with what is going on. With the encouragement of bibi, we have gone in and started a war without even checking in with Congress.
BUT ... these Iranian Lego cartoons mocking the piggy president ... boy, do they have his number. And I really hope he is watching them too. There are a bunch on YouTube and well worth watching.
Orbital sanders, in tandem, are outside my house. It feels like we are being attacked by large mosquitoes banging on the walls. They have pressured washed, now sanding and filling preparing to paint. I think the sanders will be going off for awhile.
Last night the kids went to play golf and I stayed behind with the grandkids. Mason was watching a movie with her friend (connected online) and made herself a "snack tray" with nuts, chocolate, cheestos, crackers ... an assortment to stuff. Then Noah decided she wanted a snack tray so she made hers and wanted me to watch DANCING WITH THE STARS. I have not watched that in years but Noah was to excited to share her experience ... how could I say no.
The show was so much worse than I remember! Cheesy, big white
veneered smiles, the irritating personalities. Not a sincere
moment. Fortunately Noah was dancing in front of the TV so I didn’t have
to watch too much. Mostly watching Noah, clapping for her performance. And I voted for Noah to win! David and I would watch the kids dance in front of the TV to some songs ... it felt like the good ole days.
My head, my heart hurts with all that is going on. I wish I could turn off my 'caring' button but I can't.
I went down the rabbit hole of hate this morning, following some Christian goofball that had made a comment on a post. I inspected his facebook, his friends, his wives ... all good, God loving Christians, full of love for Trump and hate for everyone else.
Making kirk a martyr. THE VICE PRESIDENT taking over a kirk podcast to spew hate and shit. I read through this stuff in the morning and feel so helpless and alone. Then the kids gather for lunch and we have a quick discussion about the morning's events and I feel a little better, less alone. At least I know there is a little balanced sanity, if only in my kitchen, with the kids.
I went to sleep watching Hallmark movie and woke up this morning with a Hallmark movie featuring a gay couple getting married!
My anger is red hot right now. Mainly at my banned friends and family that I will forever hold responsible for giving our democracy away to narcissistic child who loves gold and money above all else. People, friends that while growing up, in school together, I would have thought would scream just as loud as me at the ridiculousness of donald dump, but instead ignore, accept or worse just go along with whatever he is saying to appease family members. Or worse, they actually believe what he is saying. I will never understand what is going on now. I don't want to understand it. My heart breaks for our country.
Another school shooting and more f*cking "thoughts and prayers".
Bri and I had just watched a documentary on that scumbag alex jones and his dealings and subsequent lawsuit by the parents he harassed. What a piece of shit he is! AND he is still has not payed up.
So we had our cry over that documentary then a couple of days later Bri comes in with tears in her eyes to inform me about the 'next' school shooting. I get soooo sick of the the cult talking about how it's the trans, or the people, or the libs or or or ... but never the f*cking automatic weapons. Sick ... is not even the description. Enraged it closer to it.
And it brought to mind a conversation I use to have with my step mother and father over the phone, many times. When talking about guns and I am sure I would start raging about guns and then they would go off about their right to own guns, and how if they give up 'that' right it is only time until the government would be knocking at your door to 'take over'. And then what would I do if someone broke into my house and how would I defend myself. I am telling you ... I had this conversation ALL the time with them.
My response was:
I don't own a gun. I don't want a gun in my house. I hardly ever lock my door (back then, years ago) and I have never been afraid of someone coming to my neighborhood to 'take over'. That I did not see evil or threats at every corner of my life.
And my ending argument would be: I don't know what kind of scary world they lived in there in your little Texas community (I knew it was very safe) but I just felt sorry for them for living in such fear and hate.
And I still feel like that today. To live in that kind of fear of 'others' that you feel the need to walk around with a pistol strapped to your thigh, or tucked into your purse or an automatic weapon looped over your shoulder must be a real hell-scape in your head.
But this is where we are in this f*cked up world. Earth One and Earth Two.
And honestly, the more these crazies talk about a civil war I think, maybe I should purchase a fire arm. But is that really a world I want to live in? Like some post apocalyptic movie where people are holed up in a house with their weapons trying to survive?
I was reading somewhere about the US splitting up into different countries. I am just hoping the WA state becomes part of Canada.
Please note: Trump was not included LOL
Kentucky, on Appalachia’s remote border with West Virginia to look into its water problem. Instead, we ended up deep in a holler, miles from any store, hospital, or business. There, we asked locals about jobs, drugs, and life in the holler.
This was a hard documentary to watch but these are real Americans, trump supporters, THIS IS TRUMP COUNTRY. Unemployed, living on disability ... thinking that trump's policies are NOT going to affect them? Probably most are alcoholics. It is insane.
One guy actually said took his three grandchildren to school one day and all came back gay. Yes, he said that. I don't think these people are stupid, I just think they are delusional, ill-informed, drug-addled.
Well, I was going to add some art but I am thinking this post doesn't deserve anything pretty.
It is my Matt's birthday today. 34! We are going out to dinner tonight. Bri and kids made a trip to Costco for dog food and $400 worth other stuff that I am sure we needed. We are having an exceptionally hot week this week. Between 4PM an 8pm I close all the blinds and turn on a fan. I wear my men's jockey underwear as shorts that I bought on one of Robin and mine trips searching for basketball hoops. And I tough out the heatwave. I must admit, the sun feels so much hotter and intense than it once did. Standing in it feels like a Texas experience!
I have been having a conversation with my friend a little older and we have decided we just don't like leaving our house anymore! I am perfectly okay to stay home, I am happy at home. I took Mason school shopping two days ago and got stopped by the police. I couldn’t figure out why except I was singing along to Nelly’s country grammar really loud. Anyway, he said I didn’t have my seat belt on and I said, I can’t drive anywhere without it buzzing, so yes I did. But it was under my arm because it chokes me. But you know I haven’t been stopped in about 25 years so I don’t mind getting a ticket, especially since I hardly leave my house. I think he sensed my apathy and said, have a nice day. Mason was a little shook up, but I told her everyone gets stopped eventually. The city has to make money some how. And it was all good.
So today I was looking over my website renewal thinking… you are not working, why do you need to keep it online? But sometimes, I like to go look at what I used to do all day and it makes me happy. A waste of money? Maybe not
Jesus, talking about a waste, have you seen the latest video of Qzempicized Paula Deen? She is looking even scarier than me!
Speaking of ... with JoAnn Fabric shutting their doors ... where do we get fabric now? We used to have many wonderful fabric stores in Seattle. It is scary to think that you can't just go to a store to purchase some, somewhere? I was lamenting with Mason about this yesterday.
And speaking of a shortage ... I am glad I still have my piggy bank full of found lucky pennies. They will become a collectible very soon.
I ran across this video the other day. I loved Jackson Hole, Robin and I visited many times. But has become the billionaire's third home destination spot. Believe me, I met many designers there catering to the rich decorating their homes while having conversation with the locals that can't afford to live there anymore. I found it very interesting (and depressing).
I am getting such a kick out of fox having a emotional breakdown over Gavin's holding a mirror up to trump's ridiculous online activity. I have had soooo many belly laughs the last week, thank you Gain, I really needed that. Here are the latest.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. KRC
And speaking of ridiculous ... this story about prager u is taking PBS's
place is upsetting. I mean how much more f*cking stupid
can this country become? And how many times a day can one actually scream W
T F at the television???
Aimee Hagedorn is making people happy with her stitches. So adorable. Makes me want to grab a needle, some embroidery thread, and old fabric.
I am going over to help my friend watching her dogs while she is out of town. Not looking forward to it. My dog is in fast decline so I worry, and will worry while I am gone. Not far away so I can always rush home.
I really missed this! Am going to take my laptop, hoping it will work ;) so I can blog while I am gone.
It is hot here today and I am trying to gather up stuff to take with me.
Can never get far away from the news. This lastest distraction of tulsi-butthole threatening Obama is really irking me to my f*cking core. Oh, look over here while trump ignores his base and calls them stupid. I swear, I hate out country right now. We live in the DUMBEST timeline, ever.
Oh, and did you catch this video of Mehdi Hasan debating a bunch of brain-dead young conservatives was very entertaining! It's a must-watch to see what we are up against. I wish I would be around to see just how the history books cover this terrible time in our lives.
And then I found this and LOL. I can't wait until this little f*cking facist is identified.
Anyway, back to the more beautiful things in life ... Justin Hoffman's work feels like I just discovered art in an archaeological dig.
I had a trump voodoo doll years ago and gave it to the dog to chew up. I think I am going to make a new one to get me through the coming years. I am finding it hard not to be an angry white woman. So I have been avoiding people.
My biological dad died the other day. We never did have a proper father/daughter relationship. I didn't know him and I didn't really wish to know him. He was never a prominent figure in my life and I was never upset about that, except when my step-mother would accuse me of being disloyal to him. BTW, I adored my step-mother, although we had our ups and downs, at least we talked to each other, debated and fought with each other but we had a relationship!
My parents divorced when I was a baby and my father remarried and had his own family. I never felt neglected or left-out, I was just not a part of that family. I was in great relationships with my paternal grandparents and that made up for any lack of fatherly love I might have had. I have been speaking a lot to my half-brother the last couple of days. He also had a contentious relationship with his dad and is really feeling his loss right now. I quit speaking with my father and sister during trump's first disastrous term in office, and I preferred to leave it like that. I guess it boils down to feeling a loss of having my final parent pass, all of those generations gone. My generation is the next to pass. Life goes on.
Udomsak Krisanamis practice has long been characterised by his specific use of collage, creating obsessive pattern made from newspaper, noodles, cellophane and paint. Over the past two decades Krisanamis’ work has maintained a distinct formal and conceptual clarity, offering a unique experimentation with the well-worn territories of grid.
I finally got Covid. I had dinner with friends, who also had invited some other friends ... and we all got Covid. I shared mine with Matt. So far, everyone else has been Covid-free.
I am out of F words. I am speechless of what we just witnessed in the oval office. Putin must be drinking vodka straight from the bottle as he high-fives donald and his clown show.
We are now isolated. Without friends. I fear a big economic collapse coming out way when these 1,000's of unemployed workers start trying to survive on unemployment while trying to find new employment, if they can. Crypto currency push by trump is scaring me. I mean, crypto currency is a money-laundering scheme! There are so many signs. Signs that we have seen coming for years if we kept going down this stupid-self-destruck-maga-path.
Anyway, enuf said. There is honestly not much else to say about our state of affairs at the moment.
I slept away Covid and now I am back on dish-duty.
Hope everyone is doing okay in these crazy times.
Lui Ferreyra work is wonderful. Fractal abstractions of reality. And his Instagram.
“When I was a child my dad showed me one of those graphics made up of a bunch of dots that are supposed to determine whether you’re color blind or not. At first, I didn’t see anything and I thought he was kidding around, but after a focused effort, I discovered a hidden number that emerged out of the jumbled mess of dots. Once I saw it I couldn’t unsee it. It seemed like magic to me. I think that was probably when I fell in love with the notion of deconstructing the visual field. It showed me, way back then, that an image didn’t need to be photo-realistic– that you could represent an image partially and the viewer’s mind could finish the rest.”
