Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

I always wondered if women were truly in charge if we would have the wars we endure now (and for centuries). I have always thought that women in charge would not send their sons to war lightly, the be killed or to kill other sons of other women. That has always been my rose-colored-glass view. That if women ran countries that it would be a very different political landscape. Well, I just watched the most extraordinary segment of Independent Lens about Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the Iron Lady, first female President of Liberia. If you have a chance, you should really watch it. It is encouraging and frustrating to see what challenges she has facing her and the other women in her cabinet (she has appointed many).

And on the same continent ... I really hope they vote Mugabe, president of the completely failed country of Zimbabwe, out of office, but I don't think they will. What a corrupt bastard he is! That country is in shambles ... and it all lies at his well-polished-expensive-Italian-shod feet. Come on, Zimbabweans, see the future and get rid of that dead weight!

I love it! Thank goodness someone besides me speaks their mind, and doesn't give a damn! At least I don't seem to. I offend some. They can take a hike. War is stupid. As stupid as the guy we have in charge. And I live in Texas. Sorry. That just popped out. Oops!
