Natural Beauty

Found this little piece of seaweed at the beach at low tide.

Day 2. I had to invert the photo because it bleached out in the sun in one day it is hardly visible. Very delicate.

Creattica

Creattica is a gallery of great design and inspirational imagery. So many great logos and graphics, Killed Productions logo, Firestarter. It looks like that in some instance, they create the logo, then offer it up for sale. The Jack of all business cards, fabulous. Via Matt Hamm.

Body Scrub

Mom and I celebrated her birthday by having a Korean Body Scrub (and talked in to the moisturizer part). We feel wonderful. The poor woman that drew my name got the raw end of the deal, lots of scrubbing. The downside it --- you have to walk around naked for a couple of hours. The upside -- you get rid of years of dead skin. It is the best present I can think I giving anyone! So think about it! And if you have never had one yourself, think about it!

Coca-Cola

The ‘Coca-Cola’ Art Gallery is a collection of images that has been designed by leading artists and designers and the Flickr photostream.

Some Of My Sta-cation

I thought my stacation was over yesterday and when I got to work ... was reminded I had taken off a couple of more days. Dementia setting in. Today is mom's birthday! And that is why I had taken off a couple of more days. We are going to run around, maybe take in a movie and dinner.

"Downstairs is so far away from me". Pixel gets distraught when anyone goes to the basement without her. She hasn't realized that she can come with us by going down the stairs.

Ruth gave me these sweet little *heart* cards and they found their way to my wall of inspiration.

Meteor Shower

After a disturbance in the neighborhood around 2am, I couldn't go back to sleep and found myself looking to the moonless starry sky out the back door. I really love deep night, quiet and pure. Within 15 minutes I saw 6 meteors streak through the sky. Thrilled. I found this July Meteor Shower Schedule at MeteorBlog.com. I hope we have more tonight.

Also total eclipse of the sun on July 22 over India and China.

Netsuke

Mom has a netsuke and we decided to look up on the internet to find out some information about it. I was shocked at how many sites dedicated to netsuke. The word netsuke is usually translated as "toggle," but it's actually more like a keychain in that it was fastened at the end of a cord attached to a traditional Japanese carrying case (sagemono).

I found on with the rotating head like moms here.

Big collection and prices on Antique Netsuke, Netsuke Online has lots of images, even on Flickr. A nice collection at Bolton Museum, Netsuke Resources Online.
