Quilt National 2009

Quilt National 2009 entry by Kathleen Loomis is my favorite! I would love to see it in person. Artist statement: May 26, 2008, there were 4,083 U.S. military dead in Iraq. Here is a flag for each of them.

My friend Robin saw the show in person and she's got some great pictures on her blog including this quilt, which was hung on a curved bar. Amazingly effective. See it here
