My pal from London sent this link to day ... Megan of Not Martha's bacon cups! My son would love these.
Feast for your eyes, Valerie's petits bonheurs gourmands.
I paid $3.46 a gallon today and the attendent said he thought we would see $4.00 by the weekend! Oh, boy. ;)
The 11-year-old son of a college friend gave me this gift! He picked it out especially for me.
Heard this interesting bit on kuow this week driving to work. Tasmin Little is releasing her latest recording which will be available for download exclusively, completely free of charge. I LOVE the violin. Made a mental note to look up when I got to work.
Last Friday had a fun css class and all week in classes at work. My brain feels bigger! Too busy to blog. Also trying to clean up/out my sewing room. Might have some table linens ... at a great price ;) See you soon.

I can't help myself, my sister sent me this and I think it is hysterical, even if I am the last person on the internet to read it.
THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what, with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning uphill BOTH ways, yadda, yadda, yadda!
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that.. I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
There was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter...with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids' and the graphics sucked! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!
Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning. Do you
hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little bastards!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire ... imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled!!!!!!!!!
You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980! Oh yea, and a seatbelt was Mom throwing her arm across your chest every time she hit the brakes.
Regards,
The over 30 Crowd

Blogger friends never cease to amaze me with their generosity and thoughfulness! I received two packages this week, thank you so very much. I am humbled by both of your sweet gifts!
Mary O.K.'s wonderful custom-made heat-gun holder, her husband made just for me! I really love it.
The Dimpled Quilter's sweet package of homemade biscotti (I won't tell you how many I scarfed down last night).
I finally came out of my introverted shell and made it to the The Seattle Weblogger Meetup Group. I am so glad I did. It was a great group of folks. I can't wait until the next one! ') Here are a few of the members I met tonight.

Our family counselor told D and I that we were not good disciplinarians with M. He is making a couple of C's and not handing in some of his homework, hence, family counselor. But in that moment, I told the counselor ... "honestly, until this grade/homework issue, we have really never needed to discipline M very much, he has always been the perfectly behaved child". And that statement enlightened and delighted me in that moment of clarity.
Marco Gomes wallpaper collections. And don't forget I have some here.
I should go back and read my own blog. Sometimes I end up on one post or another and say ... wow ... look at that! I post here so I can never lose it (the link or idea) and then I don't take the time to read backwards. I loved this post about spinning and flipping out (Zoetrope, Thaumatropes and flip books). One of the links was bad and I found this wonderful image of a puppet (seen below) on The Bill Douglas Centre - Founded in 1994, the Centre contains an enormous collection relating to the history of film and visual media. From shadow puppets to Shirley Temple dolls, from magic lanterns to Marilyn Monroe postcards, there is something to fascinate every visitor. I love the collection of cigarette cards found there. Toy panorama shows a trip around the world.
I almost forgot it is Valentine's Day. My mind does not get to play like last year, I wish I had time to do more of these ... but in the meantime ...
And speaking of big breast, how 'bout a breast liquor cabinet?
I just want a house that has over 3,000 square feet. India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, builds $1 billion house, you must go read the description. (hint, it has 600 servants to maintain it). I always hate to sound like an ole, bitchy, fuddy-duddy ... especially when it concerns someone else's money ... but don't you think he could have built "down", saved a few hundred's of millions of dollars to give to someone who doesn't have a home, maybe right there where he lives? Oh, well, like I say, it is none of my business.

My best pal Rita, way down there in Texas, makes my day on her blog and on the phone all the time.
And a local girls who makes my day, Liz and Paula, both are insightful and so calming, like drinking Camomile tea and repeating a little chant in your head! And on the this same coast is Kate ... a delight and inspiration to read.
