Jared did it! He documented Cougar Peak for a year and the results are wonderful. Now I am waiting for the invitation to the art opening.

Frozen Vignette From California
Shelley made THE MOST ADORABLE card/ornament this year based on Folk Art Bottle Whimseys, which are simply one of my favorite folk art. I was completely blown away! And so thrilled to be the receptient! She talks about her magical creation here. Thank you so very much!
Hacked Off And Hype Type
David Airey is hacked off and I don't blame him. You must read his story here about his personal website being illegally snatched by a cyber-bandit. While you are there, take a look at the alphabet, but not as we know it.

Wrapping Up Christmas
Got our Christmas cards printed today ... late ... but at least it is not after Christmas. Family trickling in. This year we decided to recycle our own posessions for gifts. Give someone something that you love but are not using anymore. That is an easy task for me, I have lots of stuff I love, don't use anymore and I know someone in my family will get some use out of it. My sister-in-law is always easy to shop/give to but one confession ... I did buy her something new at Fiber Fest vendor night. I started wrapping up Christmas tonight.

Illustration Friday - Horizon
Storm on the horizon for Illustration Friday. This is a large painting hanging in the dining room that my son and I painted with latex paint on masonite. In remembrance of a big thunder storm we had seen while in Texas and I wanted to show him that painting a memory was not that difficult. That even latex house paint could convey our magical night ... we painted it in a couple

Free Gift Tags
Here are some Holiday tags (printable pdf files) for you. Inspired by Camilla's 2007 and 2006 free gift tags. And also that I have been sitting here at my computer for hours trying to conjure up a Christmas card I can produce in a day! Ho Ho Ho. Jenny has those adorable holiday dangles.
Also found Scribd that allows you to upload pdf files (blogger does not).

Tantalizing Textile
Eleanor Pritchard's body of work drawing inspiration from the collection of English samplers in the Victoria and Albert Museum, and reflecting on the voices of embroiderers from hundreds of years ago. The work offers a contemporary take on folk traditions, reinterpreting age old skills in a new contex (seen below).

Patterns, Other Things That Make Me Happy
Back to my Saturday morning that was ... I bought a book the other night, Metal Clay and Mixed Media Jewelry by Sherri Haab for Tara and myself to look through. Remember, a couple of months ago we took a PMC class? Found so many great links in the index of that book like, Happy Day Art, Lazertran Transfer Papers for artists, Harbor Freight tool store. Helpful tips on Art Clay World. Jewelry by Shahasp Valentine.
Found this Skye Lines pattern on JuJu Loves Polka Dots which lead me to purchase this fabulous Cross-Over Top pattern by Kayla Kennington for myself! I also like Fault Lines by Diane Ericson. I probably will want Elle Shirt & Pant as well ... maybe I could have them made for me?
Jeanne Williamson is the The Uncommon Quilter.
Anna Maria Horner's great blog and making super circles.

Fun Finds
I found some fun things today and The Green Head and VivaTerra. I thought this was unusual, a Christmas tree arch. This succulent wreath wouldn't last here, but I would love to see it grow.
Fire starters, water-proof wrist camera, flexible mixing bowls and this very, very fun, faux floating iceberg.

Trees Are Up
The trees are up but I am down in my back. That is always so labor intensive ... ladder climbing, stair climbing, on my knees in crawl spaces finding boxes of Christmas decoration. But we are well on our way to getting the house ready for Santa and family soon to be here.
I am starting to feel a little Christmas card panic! Tara has designed her card and put them in the mail.
And Shelley sent me the lovely pink Christmas card/ornament all the way from Oklahoma! I thought of her today when I saw the news about those terrible ice storms in her area.
I hung more branches from the ceiling with some white paper lanterns and now I need to make some small paper snow flakes to go with.
