It was a cold and rainy day

Why do spiders insist of building their webs in walkways? I gently try to move it away and before you know it, it is back.

A little mouse was on the back deck helping itself to seeds. It was such a tiny little thing, just sitting there on the rail looking at me, me at it. It's little ears moving independently from one another. I don't want mice in the yard but it looked so small and harmless, I just left it.

My kids are not getting along right now and I am worried. Really trying to stay out their mess. Compromise is such a difficult lesson. But I (we) all make compromises. David wasn't perfect but he was well worth compromising for. I dated enough horrible men before to realize how terrible it can really be.

I started watching a few of these on Boat Zone Instagram this morning and I wonder how these people are not dead and why these idiots don't wear life jackets. It amazes me that we survive as a species.

This is why I do not want to live in Miami. Do these girls ever cover their butts? Wonder if this will offend blogger guidelines? And I wonder how many people drown in HAULOVER INLET?

So another rant about our times right now. Stores are closing down all over because they can't prosecute these thugs! It makes me sick to my stomach. Remember when some sh*thead stole Matt's wallet from his car then started using his AAA to get HIS car towed? I spent an entire day tracking this guy down at the AAA storage, talking to the tow truck guy. Called the detective assigned to Matt's case and gave him all the details. I think I even found the guy on FB and his address and pulled his address on Google ... The detective informs me that he will not go to jail or even probably have to go to trial! I mean these kids bought $10K worth of gift cards on Matt's Home Depot card! I was furious, still am.

Then the other day Matt gets a notice of a bad check cashed somewhere. I called him to tell him about it and he said "I don't have a checking account or check book'. So this jerk prints up a check (some checks) and passes it off as Matt. We all called the bank and they are putting it in the fraud cases. I called the detective to make him aware of this. Sent him all the paper work and Bri got the check in the mail the other day, which we sent him an image. Nothing. ZIP. This is why these crimes keep going on because NO ONE is held accountable! So instead of holding them accountable ... we shut down stores and ignore that people could be bad credit scores. It is a terrible situation we are in.

A thunder clap woke me up at 2:30a ... and the excitement of a possible thunder storm kept me awake. As hard as I tried I could not go back to sleep until 7a. Thankfully, I have nothing on my schedule ;)

I got this on my blog ... I violated some guideline. I don't remember posting anything that was offensive.

Taking an artistic trip with Jordon

Simple and very effective illustrations/animations by Jordon Bruner.

"If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently? Hmmm, I think about this sometimes and I am grateful to my past self because I’m in a place now where I feel very fortunate. However, the advice I would give myself is: Be more patient and enjoy the process. Make more time for personal work. Listen to your gut instead of other people. Go to therapy now. Make more time for things like reading and exercise because they make you feel good." From VoyageLA

Too much burning going on!

The sunlight streaming in the windows has a golden hue because of the smoke from the fires in Canada. I feel so badly for those folks getting pushed out by the fire and the uncertainty if their homes will survive. Not to forget the tragedy in Lahaina, all the lost property and lives gone.

I always feel so righteous when I eat out of the freezer! I brought some steak upstairs, frozen dinners and left-over BBQ from David's memorial. Called Matt and told him to "go shopping" out of the freezer. I also made Earl Grey ice tea and used some of my newly grown mint! Yum!

My friends book came in today that we put together on Blurb. I told her to only print one until we could look it over. She is making a few of them for her best friends. Can't wait to take a look.

I get drawn in to the most interesting YouTube videos! Today I discovered and shared this with a friend of mine. I found these women delightful.

Forests of Judean date palm trees once covered ancient Israel, from Lake Galilee to the Dead Sea. The fruit of the tree symbolised life and prosperity and was praised in ancient literature for its unique medicinal properties. But the dates of Judea were made extinct by the Middle Ages. Now a team of scientists has succeeded in resurrecting the ancient tree.

The paintings by Nicholas Kennedy have almost a textile quality.

Silence is broken

I have two friends out there with health issues and I am constantly thinking of them and keeping them in my prayers.

I normally have the TV on. Not very loud but as flat-screen company. Sometimes my show ends (whatever random non-engaging crime show I am NOT watching) and it becomes so quiet. It is a welcome relief of silence in a way but after awhile I hear every creak in the house. The ice-maker, the wind blowing something around, birds eating seeds, seed dropping - making a mess on the deck and chattering, wind chimes (mine and the neighbors), airplanes landing in Everett at Payne field (we are now in a flight path), cars and trucks, someone coughing in the back of my house, a rowdy conversation the neighbors are having, the neighbors splashing in their pool - kids hollering and laughing, someone shutting a door, someone hammering something up the street, a dog barking, a truck reversing, Pixie snoring, fly buzzing, the squirrel is stuck in the tree telling off a cat on the ground (I run the cat off),  a distant ambulance. So many sounds make up our silence.

Then the phone rings ... my friend calling. Jump out of my quiet zone to chat about my friends potential love life.

And of course there is the ever happening slight ringing in my ears. I hear that is an old age thing.

We are experiencing a heat wave the last 4 days. It does not cool down until 10-ish ... usually as soon as the son sets the air becomes blissfully cool. The sun on the back deck is almost blistering right now. Pixie can't quit panting. If it is too bad, I seek refuge in the front of my house - much cooler.

I am thinking either Flynn or Bryne as the co-conspirators. But Flynn is probably hiding a pardon in his back pocket.

I am going to break my silence retreat, return to ususal programming and empty the dishwasher.

I love this to display rocks or shells.

I have been watching many videos on Frank Lloyd Wright on YouTube. So inspiring. I love his color palette and was thrilled to find out the red seen often is called Cherokee Red. I love the way he pairs this with sky blue accents. Reminds me of Georgia Clay (#b06144 hex color - Georgia Clay - Orange - Warm color). Colors are so emotional ... just like smells.
