Dandy
Ran over to Rick and Laura's for another fresh zucchini, which I have been eating raw with pepper ... YUM. And found the perfect Dandelion.
Bowled over
Next week ... the box/container collection (mostly David's). That is intense!
Week after that ... woven baskets!
Here is a little sample of my collection. Goodwill finds that I simply could not leave behind:
My mom's tortoise glass bowl she bought in Malta in the 70's.
This is an very old pottery bowl I found in a vacant house next door to us in Malta, circa 1970's. It has something stamped on the side. (Glazed on the inside).
This is a small (hand-painted?) Scandinavian bowl I found so long ago in an junk store in San Angelo, Texas.
Bought this lovely footed bowl at a Mountlake Terrace street fair from the artist.
Not really a bowl but I use it for one. Found at some junk store 1990's.

In a groove
radio movies
I really love this song - Philip Sheppard's Launch from the In the shadow of the Moon, it makes me happy ;) Found via Rockey Monkey art blog.
Recent Films by Radiomovies Green Button Music.
I think coming up with titles for these sounds is as fun as choosing a name for a color! So I wonder if they have the title first for inspiration? Below links, few of my favorites. You could listen to these all day!

Reading Outside, indoors
I do not participate in extreme sports, but I love to read, watch videos about people who do! I read many Outside Magazines while waiting at the hospitals ER lately. I like the magazine. Great adventures, great products, great finds. I can enjoy the thrill without climbing the mountains or risking my life. ;)
Patrick Camblin, organizer of the Whitewater Grand Prix, is at it again. This time with the peer-selected Rider of the Year Awards. Here are the best lines of the year. Video below.
Camille Seaman's Last Icebergs. Wow!
Not having a vacation this year? Go listen the people camping in the wild outdoors. Honestly, these are great! Triple Splash, Algonquin Provincial Park, Canada, my fave!
On Assignment in Yosemite Jimmy Chin extreme photographer, takes you behind the scenes during a dream assignment. For more hair-raising adventure photos and videos, go read Jimmy's blog.

Today
I have spent all day working on illustrations and thinking about Facebook landing pages (way too much thinking about FB Business landing pages) ... watering D's new grass and feeding my hydrangeas. Looking after mom. Sunbathing for 30 minutes on my lunch break. Talking to Rick and Laura about Facebook landing page. Talking to BYOB co-workers in Switzerland and Philippines. Upgrading my Skype. Building signage for Global Gold & Silver. Talking to my step-mom who just got out of the hospital after heart surgery and my sister who is going on vacation in Mexico next week. Thinking about what to do for Matt's birthday next week.
And watching Pixel nap in between the pillows. (Sometimes I just want to be Pixel).

The news blues
Like we didn't know this was going on, but to hear it on the news is really depressing. The unemployed need not apply. Where help wanted ads are asking for only the currently employed to apply. My guess is that will cut the amount of resumes sent to just a few instead of hundreds.
Hey, folks. President Obama deserves a 10 day summer vacation! Trump: Obama 'Takes More Vacations Than Any Human Being I've Ever Seen'. Really, Donald? You are an asshole.
Rick Perry is questioning the threat of global warming. Hey, Rick ... have you taken a look around your own backyard?
Peter Oborne 's The moral decay of our society is as bad at the top as the bottom. Is a great read about the looting and rioting that was going on in London.
And I guess I completely alienated a Texas family member when I asked them to quit sending me Obama-bashing emails generated by hate and fear. The last one that flipped my lid was accusing Obama of not allowing the American Flag in the White House. And I just lost it and replied before considering I wouldn't be hearing from that person anymore. ;0 But really, can we just keep our politics out of our emails? And quit forwarding crap before we check out the validity the content?

My mom
My mom has been really ill for over a month. Trips and hours in the ER. And this last week felt even more critical, lots of time in ER ... but I think we finally figured out what the latest culprit making her so sick ... C.dff ... the result of months taking really high doses of antibiotics battling Diverticulitis. I saw my mom deteriorate in one month and that is really scary! But now that we know, I am keeping my fingers crossed that something can be done to relieve her pain.
Overflowing!
Mom reads me my horoscope everyday and yesterday was great ...
Today is a 7. You and others discover your new talents. The glass is neither half-full not half-empty. It's completely full and threatens to overflow.
Who knew!
Who knew!
Mari Andrews
Pretty sure I have blogged this before but .... these simple and beautiful sculptures by Maria Andrews are worth blogging again. Va the incredible visual treat, ARTPROPELLED.

Early morning fog
I think I love shooting flowers the most. Although, I am a little rusty at it. I have lots of work to do today. Mom and I spent all day in the ER ... she is okay but tired. Woke up very early and walked around the yard, looking at all the weeds that need pulling, seeing D's new grass seeds take hold and watching the busy bees work the lavender. Spending a day in the hospital puts everything in perspective. ;)

My dear friend, Robin has doggone done it again! She rescued "Monkey" last year and now he is the star of his own show! If you love this, "like" it on Facebook. I am drumming up business for her new venture. ;)

Seedpods
I haven't had a lot of time to check out the yard. But tonight I tried to capture the viola and sage going to seed. The tiniest little jewels. Nature = Amazing. David replaced the lawn so he is busy trying to keep it damp and I think it is starting to sprout new grass.

Wonders of the Universe
I was watching Wonders of the Universe last night. Feeling a little lost with one empty bedroom. In a quiet house, everyone in bed or at work. Woozy from the pain killers I am taking for my back. Just mindlessly listening to Brian Cox melodic voice explaining the universe, in the back of my brain trying to figure out my future direction ... working and dreaming of what else I could be. Then the host of Wonders of the Universe, physicist Brian Cox said:
"Time blows in one direction"
That sentence. It made an impact. Anyway, it is a great series to watch. Yes, I am being a little weird, sorry. I am grasping for inspiration, looking for something that makes sense to me. Trying to look to the future and not to the past. Fortunately, I have a lot of work to do this week which explains why no time for blogging. Plus, I am trying to take advantage of the sun and fit it a little sun bathing time during the day. Here is something strange, my daily horoscope seems to follow my life right now. Every morning Mom calls out "listen to your horoscope" and I swear it almost mirrors my thoughts or actions of the day.

Shooting little people
Lisa Swerling's glass cathedrals are delightful and loving her use of glitter. A woman's work is wonderful, I also love those little women sweeping. This is it ... exactly how I feel sometimes. Feeling guilty? I love the guy painting ... I used them in showing the recovery of a sick dollar. I really loved shooting those little people for stories!
The Little People project for a good chuckle.
The beauty of Little People in Snow Globes by Walter Martin & Paloma Muñoz.
And for the cherry on top, these delicious food installations with little people by Minimiam.
I used cigarette ash to get the dirt on the bottle. Took me forever to set it up just so.
