Kim, let me ask you this, what lens are you using on these flower shots?!
I ask because I'm about to buy my first ever DSLR to film the puppet film project that you know of and the depth of field you are getting is precisely what I would like for it.
I am using the standard lens that comes with the canon rebel .. canon zoom ef-s 18-55mm, i usually shoot on tv or av ... what camera are you using now?
(but I definitely have controled lighting ... because I am not really skilled at this ... ;)
