Also don't forget this date! Perseid meteor shower peaks on August 12, 2005.
I visited Hiroshima in April and was surprised to find that although it is a sad place, it is also overwhelmingly hopeful and peaceful. The museum was lovely. I'd highly recommend a visit if you're ever in Japan.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo. This monument is just in front of the museum itself. I got to visit this museum when I was 16. The message was very powerful, I'll never forget all of the sad things I saw there...yet it was also very beautiful, there were these amazingly colorful paper decorations strung about outside near a sculpture in memory of the victims.
ReplyDeletewhat a powerful letter. and a beautiful photo. i'm going to have to direct people to this post of yours on monday. thanks.
