Summer Sunday
Except for the cold that I am coming down with ... it was a perfect Sunday. I sunbathed in my bra in the backyard while patiently waiting to shoot a rat that comes to the bird feeder with M's bb gun. Hey, it can't get much more fun than that, right?
Reading the instruction manual for new smartphone. I am not as smart as my smartphone. I texted my sister all day and that was fun! Plus some work, some cleaning up after the puppy. D is cooking on the grill and I am trying to finish up work for tomorrow. Mom and I are about to settle down for something good on PBS (I hope). I can't wait for the rest of Justified to arrive from Netflix! It is going to be a very long, sad summer of reruns. ;( What TV series can I start watching on OnDemand? Got any suggestions?

I discovered this Texas band referenced on a friends website the other day, Explosions In The Sky talking about this song - Your Hand In Mine. More samples. I really like the music! Looks like they are going to be in Seattle in July!

Bush Anemone
I love finding a new plant and today I found this one at my friend's house. Carpenteria californica 'Elizabeth,' commonly called bush anemone, grows slowly to 4 to 6 feet wide with evergreen leaves and yellow-centered, fragrant white flowers. And I must have one!
Meadow Rue
I really love Meadow Rue. There are so many varieties!

My far-far-away friends
I love Skype! (It is simple and easy to use and I really hope Microsoft doesn't screw that up!) I get to talk to friends I haven't seen in a long time. I talk to new friends that I work with from far away.
My far-away friend Greg, who is talented in so many areas is also composing music ... and I love it! He recently bought a Ukulele and I really love this one too! Love and miss you, Greg!

In April 2009, Iceland’s neo-classical export Ólafur Arnalds created the 7-song series ‘Found Songs’ – recording a song a day for 7 days and instantly making each track available via Twitter. With artwork contributions from fans via Flickr, this modern release awakens memories of a tradition that seemed lost in the digital age we live in. You should search Ólafur Arnalds on iTunes.
This is a mesmerizing short motion graphics fine art video from Misha Shyukin's Bachelor graduate project. Just makes me want to see more!

Sleepy Saturday
Everyone here is very tired. From preparation and attendance of a 50th birthday party and surprise wedding last night. Have been very busy this week and having a hard time keeping up with blogging, shooting flowers, cleaning, or anything else.
Today is rainy, cold and foggy. The perfect day to be sleepy, stay on the sofa with a good TV series from Netflix, good book, snuggle with the dogs, listen to the heat click on, listen to some classical ... in other words be totally lazy. Until drag myself upright and get some work done!

Meg Hitchcock
WOW! Meg Hitchcock via Colossal. This is her statement: "In my series Mantras & Meditations, I examine and deconstruct the word of God as interpreted through the world religions. I select passages from holy books and cut the letters from one passage to form the text of another. For example, I may cut up a passage from the Old Testament of the Bible and reassemble it as a passage from the Bhagavad Gita, or I may use type from the Torah to recreate an ancient Tantric text. A continuous line of text forms the words and sentences in a run-on manner, without spaces or punctuation, creating a visual mantra of devotion."
