Grandma posting!
I have finally had the time to go through some of the digital photos from Essentially Ellington competition in New York that Matt was involved in. He and David went for several days and had a great time.

Lest We Forget
Lest We Forget video on Sunday Morning tells us all we need to know about Memorial Day. "When the Van Doren brothers returned from World War II they volunteered to place flags on Veteran's graves near their home in Clyde, Ohio and has now become a family tradition." He said they speak their names out loud each time they place a flag at the grave because their names have not been spoken for a very long time. Very touching.
Party time
We had a going-away party for a Ex-Texas-friend. Meant to be a cookout but because of the rain, we ate in. :0 It is nice to think the kids want to eat at the table with the adults and be a part of our lives. My other photos were a disaster, maybe it was the margaritas ')

Infographic Coins by Mac Funamizu at Yanko Design. Too simplified? I love the idea. Of course, the concept is not new, just the austere presentation.

Found and fell in love with this blog, The Amphibian Avenger, especially Sloth Love.
Hello Blogworld!
It feels like months that I have really blogged. I have stacked up so many drafts for the day I can get caught up. Between trying to get my goals met at work and the big project of new story pages that most of the creative team have been working on (not really me).
My mind doesn't seem to have the capacity to focus on much blogging. I wish I could share my personal projects I have been working on. But it must wait. The last one came to me in a day and in three days I had it drawn up, to a shop getting prototypes made! And thanking my M-I-L's generous birthday gift that is paying for my prototypes ;) Saying my prayers that my little idea works out and I can finally have something, some idea, some product that is mine! And that is successful. My other two big ideas, I keep thinking about on my drive to and from work. And must force myself to continue to work on them.
Keep you fingers crossed for me.
So, the flowers that have been planted in the yard are so confused. Most are closed up all day because it is cold and raining. The peonies that I thought might be on the rebound, don't really look all that happy. Everything back there is screaming, "where's the sun?"
Mom and I are off the Costco.

"ABChairs’ future is one of a industrial manufacturing process, using rotational moulding of LDPE plastic. This way ABChairs will be more affordable for the mass market, lighter in weight, less fragile and suitable for outdoors use. Smaller size ABChairs would also be applicable for children’s interiors, such as libraries and schools."

Out of bounding
Wang Guifeng, 79, shows her uncovered foot binding.
"She had her feet bound when only a small child and is renowned for having the most beautiful lotus feet in the village. In the bottom image, she wraps her feet which acts like a support and keeps them in shape."
When you think about it, we do much worse things to ourselves now for the sake of beauty.

Happy Mother's Day!
I have been very lucky to have some remarkable women showing me the way. My own mom, my step-mom, my mother-in-law, both of my grandmothers, my best friend's mom who conquered all kinds of terrible situations and found her way, my friend Flo, my teacher from Junior High School, Mrs. Hunt. I have been very lucky when it comes to "moms". But, of course, what makes me appreciate Mother's Day the most, my own wonderful son. He makes my life fun, worth living and gives my life meaning.
I said, No Camera!
Movie-induced-coma
With D and Matt are away in New York at the Essentially Ellington jazz contest, Mom and I celebrated day-before-Mother's-Day horizontal in a "on-demand-movie" coma on the sofa and lounge chair. The sun was out but we opted to stay in, down, for the day. Mom has pneumonia, a result of this nasty bug we just can't seem to shake. So we took it easy. Today will be a little different. I have flowers to plant, garbage cans to haul in, my goals at work are due and I really need to get a grip on those. It is almost too late, but I will give it my best shot.
Oh, I am looking at TWO stellar jays hanging out in the backyard right now! Woo Hoo. It seems spring has sprung and I rather missed most of it.
This is a video of M's band practicing. He is just always out of the video. Darn. Sorry, Grandma! I hear the Ellington show will be on YouTube .... will send you that soon.

Cool boards
Another busy week where I feel like I am disappearing. I guess I keep asking myself - what is going to be my second chapter? What do I do next with my life. Frankly, I am so mentally tired and stressed out right now, I have no answers.
But just saw this on twitter - 20 coolest billboards from around the world. Amazing.

ESTP - The Doers
The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.
The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

Sleeping spring away
I feel like I have missed many beautiful things in my yard this season. Spring sort of passed me by while I tired to sleep my illness away on the weekends. The wild columbine patch is blooming in the walkway. Driving D completely crazy. Yellow roses are in full bloom! Clematis almost done, but still filling the air with sweet vanilla. Birds are fluttering around, gathering and building nests. Snowballs are popping out screaming to be trimmed and trained. Daphne is on the last bloom. Peonies are popping up, looking pretty good considering all of the moving and replanting. Azeleas peeking out. It all happens with or without me watching.
