Late night viewing

Dogs woke me up at 3:30 in the morning and I couldn't go back to sleep. Fortunately, I caught this Independent Lens segment, Beauty is Embarrassing, about the extraordinary artist, sculptor, art director (etc.) Wayne White. It was worth getting up for. ;)

This looks super interesting! I haven't been able to watch as much PBS lately as I'd like (too much work!) but will add this to my must watch list.

My HS art teacher was HIGHLY influenced by this type of art. He makes the massive puppets that are 18 feet tall or so and would always play the Dark Side of the Moon on Fridays while we made Friday paintings. We'd take all our paint from the week we'd saved on glass plates covered with plastic wrap and just doodle with it, with no sense or notion of time, place, or rules. He greatly influenced what my idea of "art" is.

Kim ... I just saved a bunch of cardboard boxes with that in mind. My husband laughed and said you can not start saving boxes now! But, gosh, i would love to experiment and try to make a small one. ;)

will run over and watch that one on YouTube! thank you! I can never get enough of this kind of inspiration ;)
