Self-Portrait Challenge 10.10

Have not felt up to participating in SPC lately. But after reading Liz's post, it started me thinking about the ugly, green part of me that envies. Mainly envy of those who have taken their talents and used them to enrich their lives, pushed themselves to another level. Something I can't seem to accomplish, although I feel pretty talented and have lots of ideas. I dabble in everything, suffer from short-term commitment, and then let my fears overtake me. Of course with envy comes admiration ... and that helps me keep my eye on my prize.

Welcome to the club girlfriend! I could have posed for your pic! Here's to the next decade where we drop that part of our life in the ditch and grab our creatvity and run with it!

I'm like that, too, plus I have the little voice that tells me that I wouldn't have any fun if I tried to make a living at it.

I love that it says envy across your pupil.

Oh, Kim-
This is odd to me because I look at you and see where I want to be- job in the news biz, a loving family, making incredible art and participating in a community online. I've got bits and pieces of that but you seem to have it all together. You should know I totally admire you. Not envy, admire. I wish we got to hook up when I was in Seattle. Did you get my email last week?
PS: Hope you are feeling better!!!

Aside from the typically creative portrait you posted (the word "envy" on your eye is brilliant), I have to say I am somewhat startled by your revelation. You are one of the first people I met through SPC whose talents blew me away.

I will say you just might have given me an idea for next week's post.
